Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 3 days before the arrival date/time are without charge. Thereafter the deposit may be charged. The total value of the booking may be charged if changes/cancellations are made with less than 48 hours notice.
Please observe the following terms of business regarding reservation, deposits and final payment.
For all bookings we require details of a valid debit/credit card to confirm the booking. If you do not have a debit/credit card or you do not wish to give us the details then a deposit equal to the cost of the first nights' stay will be required. You can make payment by BACS which you must make sure reaches us within 3 days of making the booking.The balance is due on departure. We accept all major debit/credit cards including American Express. No room can be considered booked until valid card details have been given or a deposit has been received and we are at liberty to relet the room at any time prior to these details or this deposit being received.
The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated.Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such as additional meals, telephone, drinks etc. are additional.We accept the following forms of payment:cash, debit cards, credit cards (including American Express).
To comply with current legislation Green Gables Guest House is completely non smoking. For those guests that do smoke the only place that this can be done is outside the front door, in the garden. If you smoke on the premises you will be liable to a fine of £35 for each occasion.
Children aged three and under are free. We MUST be informed that you intend to bring children at the time of booking. If you arrive with children and have not informed us that they will be accompanying you, you may be refused admission and you WILL be charged the full amount. Even though children under 3 years old can stay for free we still need to be told that they will accompany you. If you usually allow your child to share your bed at home this cannot be ignored and even in these circumstances we need to be told. You will not be able to book a room through agencies (eg Booking.com etc.) as a double room and then merely add a note. These notes are not always noticed - it is your responsibility to ensure that this information is passed directly to us and not through third parties.
Pets are not permitted.
Cancellation and Insurance
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable.If you need to cancel please contact us immediately.For cancellations made up to 3 days before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance.For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount.For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control.We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you.Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Your accommodation is available to you from 4.00pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 8.00pm.
A charge may be incurred of up to the full value of the booking for unscheduled departure of guests. Any charge incurred will be determined by the remaining length of stay left and whether or not the room can be re-booked in sufficient time.
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care with our accommodation.You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents.Please report these as soon as they occur.We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £25 if you did not report this.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer.
